I saw that The Learning Zoo is hosting animal encounter events for families throughout the month of December, where kids can view and interact with live animals. Has anyone taken their children to these encounters before? Just curious how the experience is for local families and how interactive it really is.

She said her child was thrilled to view and interact with live animals up close instead of just looking from far away. Having family programming like that available locally in December seems like a really convenient option.

If I were bringing small kids to a holiday event like that in December, I would ask a few specific questions before buying tickets. I would ask how many kids are allowed in each encounter group, how long the live animal interaction lasts, and whether there are age restrictions for handling any of the animals.

A structured family event where the kids get to view and interact with live animals sounds like a good way to spend a morning. Just check the timing ahead of time so you do not get caught in holiday traffic.

He said the kids talked about it for days because getting to see live animals up close kept their attention the whole time. It sounds like a great December family activity for anyone with younger children.
