- Has anyone here had kids involved with local fencing clubs
Thanks for the perspective. Good to know about the gear intro period. Did your kids start with group classes or individual lessons right off the bat?

- Has anyone here had kids involved with local fencing clubs
I was sketching down by the Waterway yesterday and overheard someone talking about a local fencing club that just brought home 11 medals in world competitions over a two-week period. That is pretty impressive for kids from our area competing on an international stage. I am curious if anyone here has kids involved in local fencing. If you do, what should someone ask before signing up? 1. How many hours a week do beginners actually commit? 2. Do they let kids borrow gear before you drop money on weapons and jackets? 3. How patient are the coaches with kids who have zero background in combat sports?

- Has anyone attended a Christmas Without Them service locally?
Thank you all for sharing that. It sounds like exactly what she needs right now. Does anyone happen to remember where the location and timing announcements are usually published first so I can grab the details for her?

- Has anyone attended a Christmas Without Them service locally?
Has anyone attended a Christmas Without Them service locally? Looking for information on when it is held this year for a family member who lost her spouse recently. She is really struggling with the idea of navigating the upcoming holiday season. Before I pass the idea along to her, I want to make sure I know what to expect. Is it truly a quiet space for reflection and remembrance, or is it loud and overwhelming? Does anyone know the specific location and timing for this year's service?

- Anyone done the Learning Zoo animal encounters in December?
I hear a lot of parents talking about weekend plans while I am working shifts at Market Street. If I were bringing small kids to a holiday event like that in December, I would ask a few specific questions before buying tickets. I would ask how many kids are allowed in each encounter group, how long the live animal interaction lasts, and whether there are age restrictions for handling any of the animals.

- Community events and activities around Town Center Oct 19-25
If you are heading to Market Street or Town Center later in the week, just be ready for the foot traffic. I work at a coffee place in Market Street and we always get a steady rush whenever there are family activities or weekend gatherings scheduled. If I were going to an event with kids, I would want to ask a few things beforehand: is there designated parking nearby, are the activities outdoor only, and how early do you need to show up before space fills up?

- Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot with Give Me A Break Texas
I saw the announcement for the Give Me A Break Texas Turkey Trot. If I were signing up the main things I would check ahead of time are packet pickup details, exact start times for the run versus the walk, and parking setups near the course. It sounds like a positive event for supporting their programs while getting exercise in on Thanksgiving morning.

- Electrician for a panel upgrade and EV charger
The permit for ours took about two weeks but Bale's handled all of it, we didn't have to do anything except sign the homeowner acknowledgment form. The actual work was done in a day once they got the go-ahead from the county.

- Soup dumplings up this way?
I've tried both MiMi Garden locations and honestly they're pretty much the same. The Research Forest one might be slightly faster because it has more tables, but the food is just as good at Sawdust. If your daughter is really into XLB I'd also second the Noodle Kitchen suggestion since they make everything in-house, you can watch them pull the noodles through the kitchen window.
