Looking over the schedule for this week, October 19 through October 25, 2026, and trying to plan out a few things to do with my kids around Town Center or the nearby parks. Does anyone have plans for any of the community gatherings or activities listed for this week?

My wife and I were just talking about this while doing our morning walk over by Northshore Park. (I usually try to get out there before the sun gets too high, but now that it is late October the morning weather is actually pretty nice.) Town Center usually gets busy on the weekends for these community events, but we like strolling over toward the Waterway to see what is set up. Are you looking to stay right around the parks or head down toward Market Street as well?

If you are heading to Market Street or Town Center later in the week, just be ready for the foot traffic. I work at a coffee place in Market Street and we always get a steady rush whenever there are family activities or weekend gatherings scheduled. If I were going to an event with kids, I would want to ask a few things beforehand: is there designated parking nearby, are the activities outdoor only, and how early do you need to show up before space fills up?

We are planning to bring our kid to a couple of the park events this weekend lol. The schedule for October 19 through 25 has a good mix of stuff for younger kids and families. It is nice having so many options right around Town Center and the greenbelts without having to drive far.

Thanks for the heads up on the Market Street crowd. Did you notice if the park activities for this week need registration in advance, or can we just walk up?

Most of the park gatherings allow walk-ups, but parking near Northshore or Town Center can be a nightmare if you show up ten minutes before start time. I always end up circling the lot twice while my kids argue in the back seat. My advice is to get there at least twenty minutes early or park further out along the path and just walk over.

Seconding the parking warning. If you try parking near Town Center on a weekend afternoon during one of these community events, you will be sitting in line behind five SUVs trying to grab the same spot. We usually park over by the library side or just walk down from the trails if we are coming from Cochran's Crossing.

We are taking our kids to a couple of the family activities scheduled for the weekend as well. The events listed for October 19 to 25 look pretty manageable if you go earlier in the day. My kids are seven and ten, so finding something that keeps both of them entertained around the parks without being completely overwhelmed by crowds is always the goal.
