My in-laws and extended family are driving into town tonight for Halloween weekend, and we are looking for recommendations on where to take everyone out to celebrate. We would love a place with a good evening atmosphere, whether that is around Market Street, Town Center, or another local spot hosting live music or a festive Halloween setup. With our infant at home, we are hoping to slip out for a few hours while family is here to help watch the baby. Are there any particular venues hosting events tonight that you would recommend for entertaining out-of-town guests?

We had my cousins in town for a holiday weekend last year (we usually end up doing dinner near Market Street whenever people visit from out of state), and walking around the green space after dinner was really great for the evening crowd. I am not sure which specific restaurants are hosting formal Halloween costume contests or live bands tonight, but Town Center and the Waterway usually get pretty lively on weekend nights like this. If you are looking for live music, I would definitely check the patio spots along the Waterway first before deciding.

If any members are planning private neighborhood gatherings or street events in conjunction with the holiday weekend, kindly remember that Section 2.11 of the Residential Standards prohibits unauthorized street blockades or excessive amplified sound past 10:00 PM. Also, please note that commercial event signage placed on common area easements is strictly prohibited under Standard 4.02. For commercial venues in Town Center, those fall under the Commercial Development Standards, so Town Center and Market Street establishments manage their own evening event permits directly through the Township rather than the village associations. Kindly keep in mind that the WCA enforces covenants across our residential villages and is not a traditional HOA.

"Section 4.2 is pretty clear on this."

Honestly, if I have family coming in on a Friday night for Halloween, my first priority is finding somewhere with good food and draft beer where we do not have to wait two hours for a table. Market Street is going to be packed tonight. If you want a solid evening out with live music and cold drinks, I would look for places with big outdoor seating patios near Town Center or down along the Waterway. Personally, I am staying home to run the offset smoker for a fourteen-pound brisket tomorrow, but taking out-of-towners down to the Waterway strip is usually your best bet for a lively crowd.

    Low and slow, y'all.

Good luck with Town Center parking tonight! Halloween weekend brings out everyone, especially around Market Street and the Waterway. If you have family in town and baby duty covered, get out early before the valet lines stack up. We are stuck doing neighborhood trunk-or-treat prep all evening, so enjoy an adult night out for the rest of us!

Three kids, one minivan, zero silence.
