- Oct 30, 2026, 8:02 PM#1Has anyone seen a detailed schedule for the Timarron Park Tree Planting coming up? I saw the event listed for Timarron Park over in Creekside Park, but there were no hours or sign-up links attached to it. I would love to bring my toddler out to help put some saplings in the ground, but before I pack up and drive over from East Shore, I want to make sure I have the basic details straight. What time does check-in actually start? Are tools provided or do we need to bring our own shovels and gloves? Is there any minimum age for kids who want to participate?
- Oct 30, 2026, 8:20 PM#2I have been keeping an eye out for that flyer too and have not seen a time posted anywhere yet. Before committing a Saturday morning, here is what I would want cleared up: 1. Exact start and finish times so people can plan around family schedules. 2. Whether tools and soil amendments are provided on site or if volunteers must supply their own. 3. Where official volunteer parking is supposed to overflow once the main lot fills up. Hopefully whoever is coordinating puts out the full operational plan soon.
Shop local, file on time.

During past community planting days, volunteers dropped empty plastic potting bags right along the greenbelt margins and accidentally trampled native ground cover while moving trees around. If you bring children out, please make sure they stay on the designated paths and do not tear up the understory. Also, if anyone brings a dog along to watch, remember that park rules require them to stay on a tight leash at all times so local wildlife is not disturbed.
Do not feed the deer. Please.
- Oct 30, 2026, 10:57 PM#4I remember helping with one of these village tree planting mornings years ago when my kids were smaller lol. It is always such a fun project for the neighborhood. Usually they set up a table near the park shelter with extra shovels and work gloves, but bringing your own small garden trowel for the kids never hurts. I hope they post the exact start time soon because it really is a great community event lol.

That parking lot is already tiny on a normal weekend morning when families are heading to the playground. If two hundred people show up at nine in the morning for tree planting, Kuykendahl and the neighborhood side streets are going to be completely backed up.

- Oct 31, 2026, 9:02 AM#7I really hope they release the exact timeline by early next week! Both of my kids have swim practice at the natatorium in the morning, so I need to know if we can swing by Timarron Park right after practice or if we will end up missing the main planting window entirely.
