- Timarron Park tree planting schedule and details
Timarron Park is a wonderful location for adding canopy back into Creekside Park, but I hope the organizers clearly mark the planting zones before everyone arrives. During past community planting days, volunteers dropped empty plastic potting bags right along the greenbelt margins and accidentally trampled native ground cover while moving trees around. If you bring children out, please make sure they stay on the designated paths and do not tear up the understory. Also, if anyone brings a dog along to watch, remember that park rules require them to stay on a tight leash at all times so local wildlife is not disturbed.

- Happy hour with food that is actually worth eating?
Good to know about Friday, that would have been us showing up on the wrong night. Sausage bread is noted.

- Happy hour with food that is actually worth eating?
Ended up at Truluck's last week like half of you said and it was great, thanks. Fielding's sounds like a good next one. Is the bar area loud or can you actually talk?

- Battle of the Oaks game: Grand Oaks vs Oak Ridge
I was out taking photographs near the greenbelt path earlier that evening and could hear the stadium noise echoing straight down the corridor. It was obvious when Grand Oaks built that early margin by the huge roars from the stands. Glad to hear both teams put on a competitive show in the second half without any incidents.

- Lighting of the Doves Nov 21, parking strategy?
Park at Market Street early, eat dinner, walk over. That's the only way I've found.

- Thinking about applying for the Development Standards Committee volunteer openings
If you do apply and get appointed Hector, please keep an eye on the greenbelt buffer easements in those property modification applications. So many requests try to creep past the building set-backs into the forest reserve lines or shave off native understory trees that the residential covenants are supposed to protect. We need committee members who actually enforce the vegetation standards.

- Electricity providers in 77381 and Entergy level billing questions
If your lot happens to back up to one of the greenbelts in 77381, mature oak and pine canopy helps block some afternoon sun, but it will not shield the roof from Texas heat. Level billing is really the most sensible option for managing monthly expenses here. We have used it for years. Just be mindful about lowering the thermostat below 75 degrees on 100-degree days, because your rolling average will gradually creep upward to reflect that extra load.

- Township paying millions to Houston to block annexation
Yes, it keeps the exact same arrangement active. Protecting our local structure means the Township keeps complete control over our greenbelts and forest corridors. If Houston ever absorbed this area, we would lose all local say over how our forested buffers and wildlife habitats are managed.

- Happy hour with food that is actually worth eating?
Thank you all for these suggestions. Is the bar at Truluck's usually completely packed right at four thirty, or can two people usually find seats?

- Happy hour with food that is actually worth eating?
Looking to catch up with a friend after work next week. A lot of happy hour menus seem to just offer basic chips or fries, but we are hoping for places where the food served at the bar is genuinely good quality. Where do you like to go when you want actual decent bites?

- Is it actually normal to see roaches inside dining rooms here?
It depends entirely on the species of cockroach you saw. If it was a small light brown insect about half an inch long with two dark parallel stripes on its head, that is a German cockroach. Those live strictly indoors, breed near food equipment, and indicate a sanitation issue. If it was a giant dark brown or reddish roach almost two inches long, that is an American cockroach or Smokybrown cockroach. Those live outdoors in tree hollows, pine straw, and leaf litter along our greenbelts. During extreme heat or heavy rain, they wander inside looking for moisture and cool air. You will see single adult outdoor roaches wander into even the cleanest buildings in Southeast Texas, especially if doors are opening continuously.

- Small ceiling water stain after the rain, looking for leak repair recs without an upsell
Before anyone spends money on roof repairs, please check if you have live oak branches touching your roofline or overhangs from the greenbelt. At 6:45 AM yesterday I watched two squirrels chewing directly on the rubber boot of a vent pipe on my neighbor's roof across the greenbelt. People assume leaks are always installer failure or aging shingles, but wildlife looking for moisture or sharpening their teeth on soft rubber causes a huge percentage of these boot leaks. Trimming your branches back away from the roof will prevent them from getting up there in the first place, and please stop leaving birdseed out near the eaves.

- Hourani's Barbershop in Grogan's Mill Village Center
Has anyone dropped by the new barbershop in Grogan's Mill Village Center yet? I saw that Hourani's Barbershop is officially open now and was thinking about taking my boys there for haircuts this weekend. It would be very convenient while running errands at the village center.

- Kennel tech needed at Animal Hospital of The Woodlands
Same hospital is also hiring a kennel technician for their boarding and daycare guests. Hourly, full time or part time. You feed, exercise and watch the boarding pets, flag anything off to the medical team, and keep kennels, runs and the grounds clean. It is physical cleaning work, just so nobody is surprised. Call (832) 813-7387, ask for the hospital manager.

- Animal Hospital of The Woodlands needs an experienced groomer
Commission grooming can be really good money once you build a book of regulars. Slow the first few months though.
