My middle schooler was asking about seeing a musical and I noticed the Oak Ridge High School Theatre department is putting on Little Shop of Horrors on stage in their auditorium. The dates listed are October 29 through October 31 for their evening showtimes. Has anyone taken their kids to theatre productions at Oak Ridge High before? Just wondering what to expect for parking and if it is pretty standard for local families and community members to attend lol.

If you are driving over to Oak Ridge High for an evening show, just budget extra time for parking near the auditorium. Traffic getting into the school parking lots around event times can get annoying if you pull in ten minutes before curtain. The venue itself is fine once you actually get inside and sit down.

Our family has attended several high school stage productions in the area over the years. The Oak Ridge High School Theatre program puts on solid performances, and opening the auditorium doors to community members and local families for that October 29 through October 31 run is very typical. A middle schooler should find Little Shop of Horrors very entertaining.

Thanks nyr_nyy_nyg_nyk! That is really good to hear. Do you happen to know if tickets for those evening showtimes from October 29 through October 31 can be bought at the door, or should we definitely buy tickets online in advance?

I would recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time if you can. Because it is a short three-day run from October 29 through October 31, evening showtimes tend to fill up fast with families, students, and community members buying tickets early.

If I were taking a middle schooler to an evening show at the high school auditorium, I would check three specific things ahead of time: exact start time so dinner does not get rushed, whether tickets can be scanned on your phone, and which entrance gets you closest to the auditorium doors so you are not wandering the halls after parking.
