My daughter and I were talking about going to the Vets and Vintage event put on by The Woodlands Car Club. I know they host a holiday food drive along with displaying the classic cars to help stock local food pantries for the holiday season, but I am not sure what specific food items they need most or what time the classic cars usually start lining up. Does anyone have experience going to this or know when people usually roll in?

My boys loved seeing all the classic cars the last time we caught a car club event (they spent twenty minutes just staring at an old turquoise truck). The Vets & Vintage Veterans Day Tribute is always a neat setup. As far as the holiday food drive goes, I am not sure if they posted a specific wishlist, but non-perishables aimed at stocking local food pantries for the holiday season are what they collect. Not sure on the exact load-in time for the cars though, so hopefully someone who participates can chime in.

The car club put together a good event with the Vets & Vintage tribute. Brought canned goods for the food drive last year to help stock local food pantries. Not sure what time cars start parking for display. Usually early morning before crowds arrive.

Traffic and parking can get tight pretty quickly once the classic cars start filling in, so if you are trying to display a car, earlier is always better. The holiday food drive is a great cause to support local food pantries before the holidays. I do not think they have strict rules on specific food items beyond standard shelf-stable goods.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I will pack up a box of non-perishables for the holiday food drive and head over early. Does the car club usually set up a central donation drop box for the pantries right where the cars are displayed?

Yes, when The Woodlands Car Club presents the Vets & Vintage Veterans Day Tribute, they usually have the donation area set up right alongside the vehicle display. It makes it very easy to drop off items for the food drive while you walk around and look at the classic cars. Stocking the local food pantries for the holiday season is the main goal of the drive, so any unexpired canned or boxed food items are helpful.

my wife and i usually like walking over to see the classic cars whenever the car club hosts something lol. stocking local food pantries for the holiday season is definitely needed right now so we are planning to drop off some food drive items too. not 100% sure on exact car arrival times but the display is usually set up by mid-morning.

We always see a great turnout for the car club events (especially when it is for a great cause like honoring veterans). The Vets & Vintage event brings out some really beautiful classic cars. Donating to the holiday food drive is super straightforward and helps out our local pantries big time for the holidays.

Just make sure you do not block the staging lanes if you are driving in just to drop off pantry items. Parking fills up fast once the classic cars line up. Great event for the community and for stocking up the food pantries.
