- Small custom woodworking project using old drawer fronts
Thanks for confirming on TaskRabbit, I thought I was losing my mind looking through those profiles. It was all full kitchen trim and flooring crews (which makes sense for their time, but definitely overkill for two drawer boxes). I will ask around the neighborhood to see if anyone has a proper garage shop setup.

- Small custom woodworking project using old drawer fronts
We were cleaning out our home in Creekside Park over the weekend and I saved a set of solid hardwood drawers from a piece of furniture we were getting rid of. My wife and I had the idea to repurpose a couple of the drawer boxes into raised dog feeding stands for our pups (it would look great with our setup and keep their bowls off the tile). The project is pretty simple on paper and only needs a few precise cuts and basic assembly to attach the legs and top trim, but I do not own a table saw or proper woodworking tools to do it cleanly. I checked TaskRabbit thinking I could find someone with a bench setup, but almost every profile on there is focused on full home renovation, drywall, or big carpentry jobs. Does anyone know a local woodworker or skilled hobbyist in the area who takes on minor custom craft projects like this?

- Best spots for lawn chairs at the Caroling Caravan Christmas Light Parade?
We went out for this last year (my kids loved seeing all the Christmas light setups on the floats) and we ended up bringing camp chairs early. We usually try to park a couple blocks back so we do not get stuck in the traffic jam right when the caroling parade finishes up. It is a really fun neighborhood event (especially for the younger kids who get excited about the holiday carols).

- Thanksgiving break camps for kids - Advanced Robotics with Scratch?
(We are already trying to figure out our Thanksgiving week schedule over in Creekside Park since the kids have the whole week off from school.) My eight-year-old took a basic Scratch coding workshop a while back and absolutely loved building little interactive games on the screen. Having an Advanced Robotics with Scratch camp right during Thanksgiving break sounds like a lifesaver for keeping their brains active instead of just staring at iPads all day while we prepare for Thanksgiving dinner. The drop-off traffic near the centers during holiday weeks can get a little messy around pick-up time, but having structured robotics fundamentals during that off-week is completely worth it.

- Vets and Vintage car event and holiday food drive question
My boys loved seeing all the classic cars the last time we caught a car club event (they spent twenty minutes just staring at an old turquoise truck). The Vets & Vintage Veterans Day Tribute is always a neat setup. As far as the holiday food drive goes, I am not sure if they posted a specific wishlist, but non-perishables aimed at stocking local food pantries for the holiday season are what they collect. Not sure on the exact load-in time for the cars though, so hopefully someone who participates can chime in.

- Corgi races at Kirby Ice House this weekend
We checked out a similar dog event there last year (my wife loved seeing all the low-riders running around). As a landscape design guy, I always appreciate how well Kirby laid out that massive turf lawn area behind the patio, but when you cram a few hundred people around a twenty-yard stretch of turf, visibility gets tough. My advice is to grab a table on the covered deck right by the step-down if you can snag one, so you are elevated slightly above the crowd standing along the grass.

- Visit The Woodlands holiday lineup released. What events are you hitting?
(My wife loves the seasonal markets so we end up dragging the kids out every single year without fail!) As a landscape designer I actually appreciate how well they integrate the temporary light displays into the existing green spaces around the Waterway. (Though I will say some years the foot traffic pathing gets a little chaotic near the water when they put vendor booths too close to the main bridge crossings!)

- Anniversary dinner recommendation that isn't downtown?
We did Azzurro for our anniversary last spring and the lakeside view at sunset was absolutely gorgeous (way better than fighting that 45 traffic like someone mentioned). The food was excellent and the valet made everything feel extra-special when we arrived. I'd say book a table on the water side if you can and try to time it for when the sun is going down over the lake.

- Caterer for a graduation party, about 80 people
We did a staffed option with a different caterer (not one of the ones already mentioned) for my son's 8th birthday last year (way smaller than yours, but same principle) and I can tell you it was absolutely worth it. The folks they sent set everything up, kept it looking good, and cleaned as they went. We paid maybe 20% more but my wife and I actually got to talk to people and watch our kid have fun instead of hovering over food tables. For a graduation with 80 people you're definitely going to want at least one server there, maybe two.
