Own a restaurant in Market Street. Live in East Shore so I walk to work. Know most of the other owners along the Waterway. There until late most nights. Like the walkable setup.

- Small custom woodworking project using old drawer fronts
I run into this kind of thing all the time at my restaurant on Market Street (we needed a small custom wooden display stand modified last year for our host station and faced the exact same wall). TaskRabbit is really geared toward guys looking for big handyman day rates or full room updates, so nobody wants to pull out their saws for a quick twenty-minute job. Your best bet for something small like drawer cutouts is finding a local garage hobbyist or cabinet maker who does small custom pieces on the side.

- Halloween events and trunk-or-treats around The Woodlands this weekend
We always see tons of families walking around Town Center during the community celebrations (my wife and I usually watch all the creative costumes from the patio on Market Street while taking a dinner break). I know several local organizations and parks are organizing public trick-or-treat opportunities this weekend geared toward children of all ages, so you definitely have great options outside of just walking your own street!

- Thanksgiving break camps for kids - Advanced Robotics with Scratch?
(Back when my son was younger and I was spending sixteen hours a day getting the restaurant ready for the Thanksgiving rush, holiday camps were an absolute necessity for our family!) Scratch is wonderful because kids actually get to see their code control robotics actions right away, which keeps them locked in. Having a dedicated STEM activity during Thanksgiving week is such a huge help for working parents trying to balance holiday prep and kids being out of school.

- Vets and Vintage car event and holiday food drive question
We always see a great turnout for the car club events (especially when it is for a great cause like honoring veterans). The Vets & Vintage event brings out some really beautiful classic cars. Donating to the holiday food drive is super straightforward and helps out our local pantries big time for the holidays.

- Anyone been to Wit at the Woodlands comedy night at the resort?
My wife and I actually ran into some old friends in the lobby before one of their dates (we were grabbing dinner nearby standard Saturday night setup for us) and they were heading into the show. They loved that the resort opened up tickets to locals and not just guests staying on property. It is great seeing more live entertainment options pop up over on that side of town so everybody does not have to crowd into the same three spots along the Waterway (which gets ridiculous on weekends anyway).

- Visit The Woodlands holiday lineup released. What events are you hitting?
(We always see a massive bump in foot traffic at the restaurant as soon as those Waterway light displays turn on in November.) Last year during the seasonal markets people were waiting over an hour for a table because everyone came straight from the market stroll! (If you are coming down to Town Center for the holiday happenings I always tell my friends to make dinner reservations two weeks ahead or eat super early before heading over to the lights.)

- Estate planning lawyer, finally doing the will
We used Hopkins Centrich a few years back (we needed some business entity stuff sorted out at the same time as personal documents) and they quoted us a flat fee upfront for the whole thing. It wasn't cheap but we knew exactly what we were paying before we signed on. When my college kid needed to be added to some paperwork later they charged separately for that amendment, but again it was a set price they told us before doing the work. I appreciated not getting surprised by a giant bill at the end.

- Anniversary dinner: fancy steakhouse vs bar hopping around Town Center?
We go the nice dinner route every time (and we're talking maybe twice a year without the kids). My husband and I own a place in Market Street so we're around restaurants constantly, but on our rare nights off we always book somewhere with tablecloths and a wine list where we can just sit and talk for two hours without rushing. The bar hopping thing sounds fun in theory but when you're already exhausted from the week it turns into more logistics than relaxation. Make a reservation now though because weekend slots disappear fast.
