- Lisa Espino was praised for being patient and thorough during the probate process.
- A neighbor was very grateful for their handling of matters during a difficult time.
Other options neighbors mentioned
- Hopkins Centrich: Recommended for estates involving land, as attorney Steven J. Clausen is board certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law and the firm is used to complex assets. (post #2)
- Morgan Bourque: A friend of a neighbor reported that this firm was very responsive and communicated well while sorting out a will. (post #4)
Community takeaways
- When land is involved, consider a lawyer who is board certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law.
- Bring all land paperwork with you to the first meeting to save time.
- Ask whether the law firm charges a flat fee for a package or bills by the hour.
- For complex assets, a firm that also handles business law may be beneficial.
- Sep 20, 2026, 2:14 PM#1My wife has been after me for about fifteen years to do a proper will and a trust and all that. I finally lost the argument. I have land out in Magnolia and some in East Texas so it is not just a simple one page thing. Who have you all used for wills and trusts. Somebody who talks like a normal person, I do not want to be talked down to by a lawyer in a tie.
Been here since it was all pines.

Clausen, is board certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law. That's a big deal in Texas. They handle business law too, so they're used to complex assets. They've been serving businesses in the area for a long time.

When my husband passed, they handled the probate and Lisa Espino was so patient and thorough with me during a very difficult time. I would recommend them to anyone. - Sep 20, 2026, 3:40 PM#4A friend of mine was very happy with Morgan Bourque. Said they were very responsive and communicated well. They're over on Waterway Ave. I know they handle a lot of different things but she said they got her will sorted out properly. Their number is (713) 766-6001. Good advice to bring all your land paperwork with you to the first meeting, no matter who you pick. Saves a lot of time.

- Oct 7, 2026, 7:43 PM#6We used Hopkins Centrich a few years back (we needed some business entity stuff sorted out at the same time as personal documents) and they quoted us a flat fee upfront for the whole thing. It wasn't cheap but we knew exactly what we were paying before we signed on. When my college kid needed to be added to some paperwork later they charged separately for that amendment, but again it was a set price they told us before doing the work. I appreciated not getting surprised by a giant bill at the end.

It was nice to know what it would cost upfront. Susan walked us through everything without making us feel stupid for asking basic questions.
