Any casual pick-up soccer games for 11-year-old boys?

Hello everyone. I am looking for casual soccer pick-up games in The Woodlands, Spring, or Magnolia for 11-year-old boys. My neighbor is trying to find something informal where kids can just show up and kick the ball around without committing to a full league schedule. Does anyone know if there are any informal groups meeting up regularly at local parks or turf fields?

(My son is only 4 so we are mostly stuck on scooters near Lone Star College right now), but I see older kids kicking soccer balls around open grass areas when I drive past some of the neighborhood parks on weekends. Usually it is pretty random though. Are you looking for something that has a set weekly time, or just open spots where kids naturally gather after school? (I can ask a couple of the parents who come into the pharmacy if they have seen regular pick-up groups in Spring or Magnolia.)

My oldest is 14 and my youngest is 10, so we have been around various sports fields in Panther Creek and the surrounding areas over the years. In my experience, true pick-up soccer for that 11-year-old age bracket in The Woodlands or Magnolia is tough to find without a regular parent group chat behind it. Most open park fields get claimed by organized club practices during weekday evenings. If you do find an informal group, I would be curious to hear how they coordinate it.

We spend a lot of time around Rob Fleming Park for weekend soccer, and honest opinion, most of what you see on the fields is organized practice rather than open pick-up. I know some of the boys in Sterling Ridge set up their own small scrimmages among classmates on open grass on Sunday afternoons, but it is rarely advertised publicly. If your neighbor is looking for something casual in Spring or Magnolia, it might take finding a few local parents to organize a recurring weekend meet-up.

Thank you J_Chavez09, aloeicious, and Alexreads0627. That matches what I was suspecting. It sounds like most field space is taken up by organized teams unless parents set up a private group chat. Alexreads0627, do those Sunday afternoon scrimmages at Rob Fleming Park require reserving the space ahead of time, or do the kids just grab whatever open grass is not booked?

My kid is only 6 so we are not at the 11-year-old pick-up stage yet lol. But living in Research Forest, I see kids kicking balls around open green spaces on weekend afternoons after official practices clear out. It really seems like word of mouth is the only way these casual games happen without turning into structured leagues.

(I drive delivery routes all over Grogan's Mill, Spring, and Magnolia during the day), and I occasionally spot groups of middle school kids playing informal soccer on open park fields near schools after 4 p.m. (especially on Fridays). But like others said, it looks totally unscheduled. It might be worth dropping by a couple of the local parks in Magnolia or Spring right after school hours to see if any group regularly shows up, or just starting a post on a neighborhood page to get 8 or 10 kids together yourself.
