regular · College Park
Pharmacist near the medical centers in College Park. Live a few minutes away. Trails and parks around Lone Star College on weekends. Quiet streets so the kid can scooter after dinner without me worrying too much.

- Help, who do ya’ll recommend for squirrel removal services?
We used Woodlands Wildlife Elimination. They got rid of the squirrels. It was very expensive but they did get them out. I probably should have called around first but at least they are gone.

- Happy hour with food that is actually worth eating?
Not the fanciest food but if you're bringing a group, Chuy's weekday happy hour is hard to beat for the price. Cheap 'ritas and the $5 chips and dips with the Boom Boom Pow dip. Loud but fun.

- Halloween events and trunk-or-treats around The Woodlands this weekend
My four year old has been wearing his superhero costume around the house since Tuesday (and honestly, I am just praying he does not spill juice on it before Saturday). We are planning to hit one of the public trick-or-treat events organized at the parks during the daytime. The neighborhood gatherings in College Park are always fun later on, but the organized park stuff is great when you have little ones with short attention spans!

- Any casual pick-up soccer games for 11-year-old boys?
(My son is only 4 so we are mostly stuck on scooters near Lone Star College right now), but I see older kids kicking soccer balls around open grass areas when I drive past some of the neighborhood parks on weekends. Usually it is pretty random though. Are you looking for something that has a set weekly time, or just open spots where kids naturally gather after school? (I can ask a couple of the parents who come into the pharmacy if they have seen regular pick-up groups in Spring or Magnolia.)

- Anyone been to the Water Lantern Festival at City Place in Spring?
My wife actually booked us tickets for this a while back (she loves anything with outdoor lights and live music), so we took our little one down there last fall. We got there pretty early to grab dinner from the food trucks set up near the water. It was super easy to find a spot on the grass, and having the live music going in the background made the decorating process really fun (my four-year-old mostly just drew scribbles all over his lantern, but he was thrilled when it floated out onto the pond).

- Anyone been to Wit at the Woodlands comedy night at the resort?
My wife and I were just talking about this (we are constantly searching for date night ideas that do not require hiring a babysitter for six straight hours while we drive into the city). Having live standup right at The Woodlands Resort sounds ideal for a quick evening out. If Wit at the Woodlands is bringing in good talent and open to residents, we are definitely going to look into getting tickets for the next date they have scheduled.

- Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot with Give Me A Break Texas
We are actually planning to bring our little girl (she loves being outside early before all the holiday cooking chaos starts). It is great that it works as a family run or walk so everyone can go at their own pace. Supporting Give Me A Break Texas while getting out on Thanksgiving morning is a really nice community routine (and burns off some energy before dinner).

- Pediatric dentist for a nervous 5 year old?
We go to Wheeler and yeah they absolutely let you stay (I basically had to be in the chair with my daughter the first visit because she wouldn't let go of me). Dr. Wheeler talked to her like she was a person not just a little kid which somehow made a huge difference. They also have these cool sunglasses the kids can wear during the exam so the light isn't so scary.

- Beyond butter chicken in The Woodlands area?
I go to Hyderabad House pretty often (it's really close to the hospital, so we grab takeout maybe twice a month). For lunch with coworkers the dum biryani is the move because everyone gets their own portion and you don't have to share sauce like with curries. The goat vindaloo is legit spicy though, so maybe have one person order it and everyone can taste before committing. Their crispy gobi is addictive if you need a safe appetizer to start.
