- Halloween events and trunk-or-treats around The Woodlands this weekend
When looking at Halloween activities with my teenager, I usually check three things. First, whether the local organization hosting it requires registration. Second, what age group the park activities are actually geared toward. Third, whether parking is onsite or down the road. The community celebrations around Town Center are nice, but the local park trick-or-treat events are usually much easier to navigate.

- Any casual pick-up soccer games for 11-year-old boys?
Thank you J_Chavez09, aloeicious, and Alexreads0627. That matches what I was suspecting. It sounds like most field space is taken up by organized teams unless parents set up a private group chat. Alexreads0627, do those Sunday afternoon scrimmages at Rob Fleming Park require reserving the space ahead of time, or do the kids just grab whatever open grass is not booked?

- Any casual pick-up soccer games for 11-year-old boys?
Hello everyone. I am looking for casual soccer pick-up games in The Woodlands, Spring, or Magnolia for 11-year-old boys. My neighbor is trying to find something informal where kids can just show up and kick the ball around without committing to a full league schedule. Does anyone know if there are any informal groups meeting up regularly at local parks or turf fields?

- Anyone been to the Water Lantern Festival at City Place in Spring?
It sounds like a nice evening, but if you plan to go, I would suggest keeping a few practical items in mind. First, check the wind forecast for whichever night you choose between November 20 and November 22, because a stiff breeze across the pond will push all the lanterns against one shore line very quickly. Second, if you have picky kids, I would bring a small box of your own permanent markers from home so you do not have to wait in line at the shared supply tables.

- Toddler Friendly Fall Activities in The Woodlands
Agree on the trail. Daytime trick or treating is so much better with a 2 year old than doing the neighborhood at night.

- Anyone been to Wit at the Woodlands comedy night at the resort?
It sounds like a fun concept, but before I buy tickets for my husband and me, I usually like to know a few logistics first. How early do people show up to get reasonable seating at the venue? Is the setup inside the resort comfortable for a full standup comedy show, and do they have good access to drinks or snacks during the performance? If it runs smoothly without long waits, then having top comedians perform locally is definitely attractive.

- Run Thru the Woods on Thanksgiving, who's in?
YMCA Run Thru the Woods is Thanksgiving morning, Nov 26, 7:30 start near the Pavilion on Lake Robbins. 5 mile run, 3 mile run, 3 mile walk, and a 1 mile kids dash. Registration is on RunSignUp. Doing the 3 mile walk with the whole family this year so I don't feel bad about the second plate of pie.

- Caterer for a graduation party, about 80 people
We had Saveur do a drop-off once for a smaller event and honestly it was fine but I'd push for them to send someone if you can swing it. Eighty people is enough that you'll be constantly managing food instead of enjoying your daughter's day, and the last thing you want is to miss her talking to guests because you're wrestling with chafing fuel.

- Eat This Fast & Fresh opening second location in Creekside
I stop at their original location maybe once a week after early shifts at the clinic. The Mediterranean bowl with grilled chicken is my go-to, and they have good portion sizes so I'm not starving again two hours later. They'll let you ask for dressing on the side which helps if you're trying to keep it lighter.

- Toddler Friendly Fall Activities in The Woodlands
Put the Children's Museum SpookTacular on your calendar, Oct 30 and 31. It's made for under 7 and nothing is scary at all. Little carnival games and crafts sized for tiny hands. My daughter wore her costume the whole time and was so proud. Kids are $12, adults $10, under one is $6.
