- Do you need tickets in advance for The Woodlands Men's Chorus Christmas concert?
We just moved into Woodforest this year and I was actually wondering the exact same thing. My in-laws are coming down for the holidays and we were looking for community events like this to take them to. I am still trying to figure out how fast holiday events sell out around here or if showing up at the door is normal for local performances.

- Looking for recommendations for a local vet for a large rescue dog
That is super helpful advice, thank you! I did not even think about asking about waiting room check-ins or floor exams, so I will definitely make a list of those questions when I call around. DraftHouseDave, did your clinic let you bring him in just for a quick walk-through before your first official appointment?

- Looking for recommendations for a local vet for a large rescue dog
We just adopted an 80-pound rescue pup and she is absolute perfection, just the biggest cuddle bug. I have been driving myself crazy reading online reviews trying to figure out where to take her for her initial setup exam and ongoing care. With a dog this size I really want a vet clinic that is comfortable handling larger breeds and has great staff. Who do y'all trust with your big dogs in the area, and are there any places we should steer clear of? Thanks in advance!

- Old Mexican restaurant at Sawdust and Budde Road
As a recent transplant out in Woodforest, it is fascinating hearing about how much Sawdust Road has changed. We drive down Sawdust whenever we take the kids over toward I-45, and I would have never guessed that Flying Pug location used to be a Mexican restaurant. Is there an old local directory or historical map of South County businesses from back then, or is it mostly just local memory at this point?

- Battle of the Oaks game - Grand Oaks vs Oak Ridge
Thanks for the replies everyone! Dani, I had the exact same question when we moved here, it takes a while to get all the school boundaries straight. Does anyone know if tickets for these Friday night rivalries usually sell out ahead of time online or can you still buy them at the gate?

- Battle of the Oaks game - Grand Oaks vs Oak Ridge
We moved to Woodforest earlier this year so I am still trying to catch up on all the local high school sports rivalries. I saw that Grand Oaks held off a late comeback from Oak Ridge to win the Battle of the Oaks again. Did anyone here make it out to the game? How are the Grizzlies and War Eagles looking for the rest of the season?

- Anyone planning to take their family to Boni's Nutcracker this year?
Thanks for the replies! That makes me even more excited to take the kids and support the local dancers. Does the Saturday evening performance usually sell out fast, or do we have a little time to buy tickets?

- Anyone planning to take their family to Boni's Nutcracker this year?
We just moved to Woodforest earlier this year and someone at my daughter's gymnastics class mentioned this show. I saw that Boni's World Dance Center is celebrating its 40th anniversary performance of The Nutcracker this season, which seems like a huge milestone for a local studio. Is it mostly local youth dancers in the cast? We were thinking about taking our kids to the Saturday evening performance.

- Fall events coming up in October and November
We just closed on our house in Woodforest a few months ago, so this is our first fall in Montgomery County. My wife has already printed out a list of local autumn activities for October and November. We are trying to figure out which outdoor festivals are best for beginners who do not know their way around all the village centers yet.

- Anyone thinking about signing up for The Woodlands U?
I would take this in a heartbeat if I lived inside the Township proper. Being out in Woodforest, I spent my first six months here trying to figure out MUD taxes and local governance the hard way. Anything that gives new residents an inside look into master planned development design and municipal services is worth its weight in gold. If you have the time for it, I say go for it.

- Anniversary dinner recommendation that isn't downtown?
Fielding's is our go-to for sure. The bar is great for a drink before you sit down. You can actually have a conversation without shouting.
