Counselor recommendation (grief, first time doing this)

   Sorry if this is not the right place for this. My dad passed in the spring back home and the move right after has made it all hit harder than I expected. I have never done counseling before and I honestly do not know where to start. If anyone is comfortable sharing, is there someone in The Woodlands you would recommend?

   This is exactly the right place, and I am sorry about your father. Nancy Baker, The Woodlands Counselor, off Six Pines. I saw her after my mother died. She has been doing this over twenty years and grief is one of her main focuses. She made it feel like a conversation, not an appointment.    Sorry for your loss. I will just say that going was the best thing I did after my brother passed. Take the first step, it gets easier from there.

   Seconding Denise on Nancy Baker. My wife saw her for about a year. One practical tip, ask about the session fee on the first call so there are no surprises. Worth every penny in our case.

   2004 transplant. Still call it Randalls.
