- Old Mexican restaurant at Sawdust and Budde Road
I only know it as The Flying Pug since we moved to Creekside Park, but my father-in-law has lived near Rayford Road for over twenty years and loves talking about old local spots. Every time we drive past Budde Road he points out how different that whole intersection used to look. I will ask him next time we are over there for Sunday dinner and see if he remembers the exact name of that old Mexican spot!

- Last chance for the Annette Palmer exhibit at The Woodlands Arts Council?
Thanks for the heads up on the closing date! My wife has been wanting to see this showcase, so I think I will take the kids for a walk around the area this Saturday morning between soccer games while she takes her time going through the gallery. Sounds like a solid weekend plan for everyone.

- Has anyone gone to the Montgomery County Mistletoe Market?
Took my kids along last year while my wife was running errands. Plenty of local vendors set up with crafts, gifts, and holiday items. We grabbed some unique stocking stuffers and a few holiday gifts for the grandmas. Kids managed just fine walking around for an hour or so, which is always a win in my book.

- Parking and arrival time for TWHS vs Willis football game
Good reminder Gloria. The weather is going to be fantastic for it tonight. Kids have their spirit gear ready to go. Looking forward to a great game and a big crowd supporting both of these hard-working teams!

- Parking and arrival time for TWHS vs Willis football game
We are heading over with our boys as well. My advice is to get there 45 to 60 minutes early, grab your concessions right away before the lines get crazy, and claim your spot on the bleachers. Once the student section gets rolling and the band marches in, open seats become pretty scarce. As for predictions, I think the Highlanders take it in a tight four-quarter fight, but Willis has a solid squad this year so nobody should expect a blow out.

- Bulk landscape supply yard recs around Spring or The Woodlands
Gary, most drivers are great about placing it where you want if you ask nicely and the path is clear, but they will not risk driving over sprinkler heads or cracking driveway edges. If you want them to back up close to a side gate, put down a couple of sheets of thick plywood over your grass or curb so the heavy tires do not rut the lawn or crush an irrigation line. Also grab a square-point shovel instead of a round transfer shovel for moving material off the tarp. Your back will thank you by yard three.

- Anniversary dinner: fancy steakhouse vs bar hopping around Town Center?
We just went through this exact debate for our anniversary last month. Honestly, with two kids at home, we went the high-end dinner route and did not regret it for a second. The biggest reason was energy level. By the time Friday night rolled around, the thought of walking to three different places and competing for seats at a busy bar sounded like work. Being able to sit in a quiet booth, order nice drinks, and actually hear each other talk without shouting over a crowd was worth every penny. If you rarely get away, treat yourselves to the full sit-down experience.

- Diwali at Amrina on Nov 1, worth it?
We went to something similar there for a birthday and the dhol alone gets the whole room up. Go hungry.

- Fall events coming up in October and November
We always pack up the kids for the outdoor family festivals in October. The Creekside splash pads get cold fast when the northern breeze hits, so we pivot to the autumn park events. Pro tip for anyone taking young kids: eat lunch before you go. If you wait to buy food truck meals with three hungry kids in line at noon, your pleasant fall outing turns into a hostage situation real quick.

- Lone Star College lower tax rate and tax bills
Thanks Twiggy. That makes sense on the appraisal values offsetting it. Do you know if the reduction applies equally regardless of whether your property sits in Montgomery County or over in Harris County?

- Lone Star College lower tax rate and tax bills
Saw a news update that the Lone Star College System board of trustees approved a lower property tax rate to support their budget while paying down long-term debt. Does a rate cut like this across the service area actually translate to a noticeable difference on our property tax bills, or do rising appraised values just swallow up the savings before we see them?
