The kids are really excited for this matchup, but I have not been to a major home game yet this season. For those who go regularly, how early do we need to arrive to land decent parking and get reasonable seats together on the home side? Also curious to hear what everyone is predicting for the game itself.
Binoculars in the glovebox, always.

Willis always draws a large, passionate crowd for district games, so the entire stadium area fills up much faster than non-district matchups. I remember when this rivalry did not carry quite as much weight, but both teams have become incredibly competitive district contenders recently. It should be a great game, but do not underestimate the traffic getting into the lot.
Old enough to remember when Research Forest was two lanes.

My advice is to get there 45 to 60 minutes early, grab your concessions right away before the lines get crazy, and claim your spot on the bleachers. Once the student section gets rolling and the band marches in, open seats become pretty scarce. As for predictions, I think the Highlanders take it in a tight four-quarter fight, but Willis has a solid squad this year so nobody should expect a blow out.
It's always baseball season.

We usually take our younger ones and park further back near the outer perimeter. It makes for a slightly longer walk to the gates, but escaping after the final play is so much smoother, especially when the kids are tired and ready for bed!
Fountain show at 7, meltdown at 7:15.
- Oct 7, 2026, 8:41 AM#6I park way out in the back lots for that exact reason. Walking an extra two hundred yards is a small price to pay to avoid sitting in line with running engines. You can hear the stadium roar clear across the neighborhood on crisp Friday nights like this. My prediction is a high-scoring district shootout. Both offenses can move the ball, so whoever controls the line of scrimmage in the fourth quarter wins.
The early kayaker gets the bass.
- Oct 7, 2026, 9:01 AM#7Coming from Katy where high school football is practically a religion, I was pleasantly surprised by how rowdy these local district matchups get here. Willis brings serious energy to these games, so do not expect an easy evening for the Highlanders. Get there early, grab an outer parking space so you do not get trapped afterward, and sit higher up in the stands if you want a clear view of the plays developing.
Former Katy commuter. Recovered.
- Oct 7, 2026, 9:01 AM#8I second sitting higher up in the stands. The lower rows fill up fast with families and students constantly walking back and forth to concessions, which can block your view of the field. Arriving forty-five minutes before kickoff gives you plenty of time to find a good vantage point. I am predicting a close win for the Highlanders, maybe by seven points. District rivalries always bring out the best in both rosters.
Retired. My only deadline is tee time.
- Oct 7, 2026, 9:01 AM#9It looks like it will be a crisp evening for high school football, which is always a treat after our long hot summers. Just a gentle reminder to everyone heading out to enjoy the game, please make sure all food wrappers and drink cups end up in the trash cans rather than blowing into the greenbelts adjacent to the parking fields. Let us support our athletes and keep the surrounding neighborhood clean while doing so.
Native plants or nothing.
- Oct 7, 2026, 9:01 AM#10Good reminder Gloria. The weather is going to be fantastic for it tonight. Kids have their spirit gear ready to go. Looking forward to a great game and a big crowd supporting both of these hard-working teams!
It's always baseball season.
