- Small custom woodworking project using old drawer fronts
TaskRabbit is useless for craft stuff. I had a buddy try to get a custom wooden tackle tray notched out last year and got zero replies. Most of the guys working on full homes are not interested in setting up a jig for two cuts on old drawers.

- Toddler Friendly Fall Activities in The Woodlands
Harvest Season Farm in Tomball for a quick cheap one. $5 a person, kids 10 and under free, weekends 12 to 5. Bounce house and face painting cost a little extra. Small and easy, perfect for cute photos and done.

- Old Mexican restaurant at Sawdust and Budde Road
I remember pulling into that lot after launching the kayak on Lake Woodlands back before Town Center was fully built out. It was right there at Sawdust and Budde Road. Good chips and salsa back in the day, but I cannot recall the exact name on the front sign for the life of me. That building layout hasn't changed a whole lot since then, even after the pub moved in.

- Last chance for the Annette Palmer exhibit at The Woodlands Arts Council?
Thanks Vera and Katy. Emily, I was wondering the same thing about parking. If I am swinging by after fishing, I will have my truck and kayak trailer, so I usually try to avoid tight parking spots. Did either of you have any trouble getting in?

- Last chance for the Annette Palmer exhibit at The Woodlands Arts Council?
My wife mentioned that Annette Palmer's art collection is wrapping up its run at The Woodlands Arts Council gallery space. I usually spend my Saturday mornings out on the water at Northshore Park, but she wants to head over and see it before this final showcase closes out. Has anyone in here stopped by to check it out yet?

- Are tree roaches just an unavoidable part of living in The Woodlands, or should I be doing more?
Down by the water in Panther Creek, those big tree roaches are as common as bluegills. They live in the damp oak hollows and under rotting bark outdoors. Every time we get a big summer rainstorm, a couple of them scramble up toward the dry porch lights and sneak in when the dog goes out. I do not get worked up about seeing one or two a year. If they are big and flying, they did not hatch in your pantry, they just lost their direction on the way to the trees.

- Has anyone gone to the Montgomery County Mistletoe Market?
My wife goes every time it comes around to pick up seasonal gifts and holiday crafts. I usually drop her off and wander over somewhere nearby, but she always comes back with a full tote bag of boutique goods and gifts for her sisters. She likes that it supports local vendors ahead of the holidays instead of buying everything online.

- Parking and arrival time for TWHS vs Willis football game
I park way out in the back lots for that exact reason. Walking an extra two hundred yards is a small price to pay to avoid sitting in line with running engines. You can hear the stadium roar clear across the neighborhood on crisp Friday nights like this. My prediction is a high-scoring district shootout. Both offenses can move the ball, so whoever controls the line of scrimmage in the fourth quarter wins.

- Anniversary dinner: fancy steakhouse vs bar hopping around Town Center?
I am going to respectfully disagree with Sterling on this one. When you spend all week stuck in a routine with kids, sitting in one spot for three hours at a high-end dinner can feel almost too stiff. My wife and I always have more fun when we mix it up. Grab a bite somewhere casual first, then walk around the Waterway or Town Center for drinks. You get to move at your own pace, try a couple different spots, and the energy is just more relaxed. If you do go the bar route, just make sure you pick places close enough together so you are not spending your whole evening driving or looking for parking.

- Bulk landscape supply yard recs around Spring or The Woodlands
When I redid my back hill a few seasons ago, I ordered five yards of material from a supply yard down near Spring Cypress. The biggest lesson I learned is to lay down a heavy tarp on your driveway right where you want them to dump it. If they drop raw soil or crushed stone straight onto concrete, you will be scraping fine dust out of the cracks for a month. Also check your overhead space before they show up. Those dump beds lift up much higher than most people realize when they tilt back.

- Fall events coming up in October and November
Fall is easily the best time of year out here. I usually spend most of October out on Lake Woodlands at sunrise, but the seasonal events down around Northshore Park and Town Center are worth dragging the kayak out of the water for. The outdoor gatherings in October when the morning temperature drops into the sixties are unbeatable.

- Anyone thinking about signing up for The Woodlands U?
I might look into it if the timing works out around my morning kayak trips on Lake Woodlands. I have lived here long enough to see plenty of changes, but I still get confused on where Township authority ends and county services take over when it comes to the water and park maintenance. If they go into detail on administrative operations and municipal services, that could clear up a lot of questions people have when problems pop up.
