Thinking about starting my holiday shopping early this year before things get completely chaotic. Has anyone gone to the Montgomery County Mistletoe Market in past years? I saw it popping up on local event lists for seasonal shopping. Wondering if it is worth checking out for gifts, crafts, and boutique items!

I stopped by last year. Honestly, coming from Houston where going to any holiday market meant fighting through absolute madness on I-10 or at the Nutcracker Market, this was a breath of fresh air. It is a nice local shopping event with plenty of local vendors selling crafts, boutique goods, seasonal decorations, and gifts. Definitely worth dropping by if you want to knock out some early shopping without the massive headache.

November 12, 2022 was the first time my wife dragged me out to it. Kept track of our spending on my spreadsheet. It is a solid market if you are looking for holiday items and handmade crafts. We ended up picking up four small gifts for family and a couple seasonal items for the house from local vendors. Very low hassle compared to dealing with mall traffic.

    Measure twice, call once.

My wife goes every time it comes around to pick up seasonal gifts and holiday crafts. I usually drop her off and wander over somewhere nearby, but she always comes back with a full tote bag of boutique goods and gifts for her sisters. She likes that it supports local vendors ahead of the holidays instead of buying everything online.

Thank you all, that is super helpful! Hank, did your wife feel like there was enough variety among the boutique goods and crafts to get gifts for different age groups, or is it mostly geared toward home decor?

Took my kids along last year while my wife was running errands. Plenty of local vendors set up with crafts, gifts, and holiday items. We grabbed some unique stocking stuffers and a few holiday gifts for the grandmas. Kids managed just fine walking around for an hour or so, which is always a win in my book.

    It's always baseball season.

This is so wonderful to hear! Moving here from Chicago, I was hoping to find some local markets to pick up unique gifts and seasonal items before the holiday rush starts. Thank you KatyCastaway, HarpersHank, and LakeWoodlandsLarry for sharing your experiences. I am definitely adding it to my calendar for early shopping!
