• Electrician for a panel upgrade and EV charger

  Murphy's Electric. They did our panel in March. Master electrician runs it, and they were in and out in a day with the permit handled. The crew showed up when they said they would, which is rarer than it should be. Five stars on Google with a couple hundred reviews last I looked. https://murphyselectric.com/

  Forgot to say, they ground the stump the same visit and the crew raked the whole yard afterward.

  Highpoint Tree Care. They have certified arborists on staff and they have been doing this since 2002. They took down a big pine for me that was over the house and nothing hit anything. They also do cabling and bracing, so you will get an honest answer on whether it can stay.

  Firefighting's Finest. Moving company staffed by current and former firefighters. They moved my mother, including a very heavy antique armoire, and nothing got a scratch. They have been A+ with the BBB for a long time. They also do pianos. https://firefightermovers.com/

  My son in law used Ascendly for his landscaping company. Calls picked up within a couple months according to him. He is not an exaggerator.

• Roofer recommendations after the last storm?

  Went up the ladder on Saturday after that last round of wind and found a few shingles lifted on the back slope and one missing on the ridge. House is 22 years old so I am not shocked. Two different guys have already knocked on the door with clipboards. I do not hire anybody who finds me. Looking for a roofer people here have actually used, ideally one who will tell me straight whether this is a repair or whether I need to start the insurance conversation.
