  Same day would be amazing, the grinding starts around 6am every morning lol. Were you worried about babies being in there when they sealed it up? That's my biggest fear, I don't want them trapped inside.

  We kept hearing a grinding noise in the attic, at first we thought it might be rats. Then we noticed a large squirrel on our roof with what looked to be smaller squirrels. Looking it up on Texas Parks and Wildlife it seems this is their second birthing season so I definitely have a family of squirrels that have moved in. I dont want them hurt but I need them out and the openings sealing up. Who do ya’ll recommend for squirrel removal?

• Halloween events and trunk-or-treats around The Woodlands this weekend

  If you go to anything around Town Center or the main parks, park two blocks away and walk. People park like idiots during public community celebrations. The village neighborhood gatherings are much less hassle if you just want to avoid traffic chaos.

• Has anyone looked into the expanded bachelor degree transfer programs through Lone Star College?

  It is a smart financial move if your kid is trying to dodge stupid student loan debt. The real trick is keeping them focused so they actually execute the transfer track as written. Only pain is navigating the College Park Drive parking lot during peak morning class times. That left turn lane off SH 242 is a mess. But saving half on the first two years of a bachelor degree makes dealing with campus traffic tolerable.

• Anyone been to the Water Lantern Festival at City Place in Spring?

  We went a couple years ago. The event itself is nice, but parking around the City Place plaza pond gets packed fast right before the floating lanterns go in. If you do not park in the garage early, you will be walking four blocks with folding chairs. The November 20 to 22 timeframe should bring cool weather, but get there early or traffic on Energy Center Boulevard will be a total headache.

• Anyone been to Wit at the Woodlands comedy night at the resort?

  Parking at the resort beats trying to find a spot near Market Street any day of the week. My wife mentioned the live standup event last week. If they are bringing in solid comedians and hosting it right there at the resort, it saves a ton of headache. Anything that keeps me off I-45 on a weekend evening gets a vote from me.

• Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot with Give Me A Break Texas

  Getting a run in before eating turkey is a solid plan. Parking around any holiday event is usually a mess if you do not show up early. I have not done this specific route yet but supporting Give Me A Break Texas is a good deal for their local programs. Just make sure you get there early enough to find a spot.

• AC blowing warm again. Who do you use?

  Had AC Texas out twice last year when our downstairs unit froze up in July. First guy diagnosed it in about fifteen minutes, came back the next week with parts. No upselling on a new system even though ours is probably 12 years old now. They're not always same-day but they'll get you on the schedule quick.

  If your family's coming from Louisiana they'll probably appreciate Schilleci's more for the little touches, but Babin's portions are bigger and the parking's easier up in Shenandoah. I've taken clients to both and never had complaints either way.
