Yard crew recommendation for heavy pine needle cleanup

The pine needle situation at our place has gotten completely out of hand. It feels like every single day another blanket drops onto the lawn and flower beds, and trying to keep up with it after getting back from work is just exhausting. I do not have the time or energy to spend every weekend dragging a rake through the grass and hauling bags out front. Does anyone have a good yard person or lawn service they use who actually handles constant, heavy pine needle cleanup instead of just mowing over them?

(We had the exact same issue when we bought in Grogan's Mill back in '14!) The pine drop under these older trees is no joke, especially during seasonal sheds when it comes down in huge layers. When we were looking for help, we made sure to find a yard crew that would blow out the flower beds and haul the needles away rather than just running the mower deck over them and shredding them into the grass. (If they just mow over them, it eventually smothers whatever turf you have left.) The key for us was asking specifically if bed cleaning and hauling was included in the standard weekly sweep or if they charged extra for heavy needle removal.

Living on a heavily wooded lot near Research Forest, pine needles are a constant battle. When you talk to prospective yard maintenance crews, here are a few things I would ask right upfront: 1. Do they use industrial backpack blowers to clear out pine needles from shrubbery and deep bed corners, or just light hand raking? 2. Is haul-away of pine needles included in the regular fee, or do they bag them and leave them at your curb for township pickup? 3. How do they handle pine needles accumulating inside existing bed mulch? 4. Will they keep a set weekly schedule so the needles do not build up to an unmanageable layer between visits?

Thanks for the advice, that helps a lot. When you guys set up a service for bed blowout and haul-away, did you have to pay a separate fee for an initial deep cleanup before starting regular weekly visits?

My neighbor down the street in College Park had to do an initial deep clean when she first hired a yard crew last year lol. Her back lawn was practically paved in needles because the previous owner had let it sit for months. The crew spent almost three hours just raking out the beds and hauling away the heavy accumulation before they could even get a mower across the lawn. After that first big clean, their standard weekly maintenance kept it totally under control.

My roommates and I rent a place in College Park with several large pines right along the property line, so I definitely understand how fast those needles pile up. Our landlord hired a regular crew who comes by weekly. Having them blow out the beds and edges every single visit makes a massive difference. If you let it sit for even two weeks, it becomes a major project, but on a strict weekly schedule it only takes a good crew about fifteen or twenty minutes to keep the lawn completely clear.
