Cleaning out the garage before the weather turns. A few hand tools I have doubles of, a corded drill that still works fine, a sixteen inch kids bike and a twenty inch, both with some cosmetic rust and good tires. Prices are negotiable to anybody who will actually show up when they say they will. Local pickup only, no shipping, no holds.

Ask for the load calculation, not just a tonnage number pulled off the old unit. Ask what they are doing about the ductwork, because a new unit on bad ducts will disappoint you. Get the warranty terms in writing, both parts and labor, and make sure you know which one is the manufacturer and which one is the company. If somebody will not put the model numbers on the quote, that tells you something.

From the contractor side, she is right and I will add one thing. Half the letters I hear about are because somebody replaced like for like and assumed that meant no approval needed. Ask first even when it seems obvious.
