Sitting on I-45 for an hour every evening has ruined fast food drive-throughs for me. Looking for a sit-down spot to grab a real burger after work where I can actually unwind for a minute. Where should I head?

45 South at 6:10am. Every day. Pray for me.

If you want a real sit-down burger, head over to Fielding's Wood Grill on Research Forest Dr in Shenandoah. They cook their custom grind of 44 Ranch beef right over a wood grill, and their house-cured bacon is fantastic.

If it opened on Market Street, I've been.

Fielding's is fine if you want to pay higher prices, but Bamburger down on FM 2920 in Spring is way better for the money. Family-run smash burgers, and they cook their fries in real beef tallow. Place is always spotless too.

    Cheaper taxes, longer drive.

Trill Burgers on Louetta Rd is worth the drive. Get the OG double smash with grilled onions.

Appreciate the suggestions so far. Does Bamburger get crazy crowded around 6 PM, or is it pretty easy to grab a seat?

Bamburger moves people through pretty quickly. If you want a full sit-down service lunch with a great view instead, Del Frisco's Grille on Hughes Landing Blvd does their Grille Prime Cheeseburger right on the lake.

    Shop local, file on time.

It really depends on what time you get off the freeway and what kind of style you like. If it is super late after a terrible commute, In-N-Out on Lake Woodlands Dr stays open until 1am on weeknights and 1:30 on weekends if you just need a quick bite late at night. Just make sure to get the fries well done or skip them altogether. Otherwise, Bun B's Trill Burgers over on Louetta Rd won best burger in the nation on Good Morning America for a reason if you like smash burgers. Personally, I stick with Fielding's Wood Grill off Research Forest when I want house-cured bacon on wood-grilled 44 Ranch beef.

We took the kids to Bamburger on FM 2920 last week and loved how clean it was. The tallow fries were a huge hit with everyone.

Trill Burgers is solid, but if I am already stuck on 45, pulling off at Research Forest for Fielding's is the easiest move to beat traffic.

Licensed & insured. Get three bids.

Fielding's is our go-to for a date night burger. The wood grill gives it a taste you can't get anywhere else.

I'm with the others on Fielding's. After a long day it's nice to just sit down and have a burger that tastes like it was actually cooked on a real fire.

    Binoculars in the glovebox, always.

Fielding's is the move if you're already near Research Forest. I've stopped there plenty of times after jobs in the area and their setup is solid for sitting down and actually relaxing for a bit. Parking lot isn't a nightmare either which matters after sitting in that I-45 mess.

I usually swing by Fielding's on the way home from the Houston jobsites (I get off at Research Forest anyway so it's right there). The wood grill smell hits you the second you walk in and after an hour in traffic it's nice to just sit down and let someone else cook for a change. They've got a decent bar if you need a beer with that burger too.
