  Good luck getting anywhere near Town Center for events this week. I-45 south was down to a crawl yesterday at 4:30 p.m. and it took me forty five minutes just to get from the Energy Corridor exit to Research Forest. If an event starts at 6 p.m. between November 2 and November 8, you need to leave your house by 4:00 p.m. or you will spend the entire night sitting at the traffic light by Grogan's Mill Road.

  Shenandoah PD does not play on that stretch of I-45. You go two miles over the limit past the hospital area and they are right there. Interested to see who city officials pick to take over leadership.

• John Cooper varsity basketball team this season

  Getting anywhere near Woodlands Parkway by the Cooper entrance right around game time is absolute torture. It took me 26 minutes just to crawl from Kuykendahl down past the light yesterday evening. If you are heading over to watch a varsity game, plan on sitting in bumper to bumper traffic before you even find a spot in the lot.

  Good to have options right in the village center. Getting anywhere near Woodlands Parkway at 5:00 PM takes twenty-five minutes just to cross under I-45 from Grogan's Mill. If I can pull into Hourani's right after work without sitting in gridlock, that is a massive win.

• Barred owls hunting in the backyard greenbelt last night

  Must be nice to be awake at 2 AM listening to nature. Took me 78 minutes to get from the Energy Corridor back to Grogan's Mill yesterday because traffic backed up past Spring Cypress on I-45. The owls are harmless and they keep the roof rats down. Just keep your small pets inside at night.

  Did something like this one summer in college. The driving between pools is actually the nice part, you are not stuck in one spot all day. August in a truck with no shade is rough though, just being honest.

  Another name you could try is Boone's Landscaping. They do a lot of work in The Woodlands and have been around for a while. We used them for some hardscaping and were really happy. Not sure about huge tree removal but might be worth a call to get another estimate. Their number is (936) 206-7627.

• Plumber that won't upsell me a whole new water heater?

  Update for the thread. I ended up calling Paul The Plumber based on the recommendation here. He was great. Just like you all said, he was honest and explained that it just needed a couple of parts replaced, not a whole new tank. Thanks for the help, everyone.
