A resident asked for recommendations for a nice, slow dinner for visiting parents who are not adventurous eaters. The parents prefer a quiet room, with a steak option for Dad and fish for Mom. The discussion focused on strategies for having a pleasant meal, such as dining on a weeknight.
Top recommendation: Perry's Steakhouse
- It aligns with the preference for a steak for Dad.
- The menu includes fish options for Mom.
- It offers a nice room for a slow, quiet dinner.
- Can accommodate requests for a table away from the bar.
Community takeaways
- Consider having an early dinner somewhere with a patio and then taking a walk.
- Go out for dinner on a weeknight to find shorter waits and a quieter atmosphere.
- Ask family members what kind of food they would like to eat before choosing a restaurant.
- Call the restaurant ahead of time to request a table away from the bar.
- Making a reservation for an earlier time, particularly on a weeknight, increases the chance of getting a requested table.

Where are you taking family when they come in? Interested in places you have actually been recently rather than the ones everybody names by reflex.
If it opened on Market Street, I've been.

Cheaper taxes, longer drive.

Been here since it was all pines.

2004 transplant. Still call it Randalls.

My dad ordered the pork chop which is the size of a softball mitt and my mom got the salmon. It's pricey but the room is nice and they dim the lights enough that it feels like a proper dinner out instead of a cafeteria.
